How To Charge Apple Pencil – The Best Ways To Power Your Pencil

Apple Pencil is a unique accessory that no other company has come up with yet. It has been hailed as the best stylus for the iPad because of its ability to detect pressure and angle, giving users more control than ever before. However, unlike other styluses which can be recharged by plugging them into a USB port or using a battery case, Apple Pencil doesn’t have any charging ports. So how do you charge it? Well, there are a few ways to juice up your pencil without needing to get another adapter or find an outlet. Let’s take a look at how you can charge Apple Pencil easily wherever you go.

How To Charge Apple Pencil

1. Using A USB

The easiest way to charge Apple Pencil is using a USB. Simply plug the stylus into your computer via the Lightning connector, and you’re good to go. It doesn’t even matter whether it’s a Mac or a PC; both work just fine.

2. Using A Charger Case

If you want to go the extra mile, there are also portable charging cases for Apple Pencil that can be plugged into the same USB port as your iPad or iPhone. Just make sure that they have a Lightning port so that they can charge your pencil while connected to your device. Even though it’s not an official Apple accessory, many third-party manufacturers make these cases for sale online. They usually cost between $10 and $25, which is still less than buying an adapter and cable separately. The one I use is made by Mophie, but there are plenty of similar ones available on Amazon as well if you’re looking for one.

3. Using A Battery Case

The third and final way to juice up your Apple Pencil is by using a battery case. This option is not only cheaper than the previous two but also more convenient as it doesn’t require you to carry around an extra cable or adapter with you wherever you go. Battery cases come in all shapes and sizes, but they all have the same basic function of extending the life of your iPad or iPhone by providing extra power through a battery pack that can be charged separately. The good news is that most of these cases are compatible with Apple Pencil, so you don’t even need to buy another one if you already own one for your iPad Pro or iPhone XS Max. I use an Anker PowerCore+ 20100 portable charger case because it fits my needs perfectly. It has a built-in 10,000mAh battery that can fully charge my pencil once every two weeks.

4. Using A Cable And An Adapter

If you’re not comfortable with battery cases or don’t want to spend money on one, a third option is to use a cable and adapter instead. This way, you can charge your Apple Pencil from the same USB port that you use for charging your iPad or iPhone. However, this method is less convenient as it requires both a cable and an adapter in order to work. If you have multiple devices that need charging, then this method might not be the best choice for you. It also doesn’t work with every device as some iPads and iPhones will only allow charging using USB ports while some others won’t even recognize that there is an Apple Pencil plugged into them.

Using The Lightning Port

1. Use A USB-C To Lightning Adapter

The first option is to use a USB-C to Lightning adapter. This is the easiest way to charge Apple Pencil as it can be plugged into any standard USB port, whether it’s in your laptop or in your charger. While this method is quite straightforward and easy, it does not offer you the best charging experience. The Apple Pencil itself has no battery so you will have to rely on the charger that comes with it. So while this method gives you a full recharge, you will still need to charge the pencil itself by plugging it into an outlet or using its included power adapter.

2. Use A Lightning Cable And Power Brick

If you don’t own a USB-C to Lightning adapter and don’t want to buy one, there is another way of charging your Apple Pencil without needing another charging brick or plugging it into an outlet. All you need is a lightning cable and a power brick. Simply plug the cable into your Apple Pencil and then connect it to the power brick as shown in the above image. Just make sure that you connect it correctly or else you may risk damaging your pencil.

3. Use A USB-C To Lightning Adapter And Power the Brick

If you own both a USB-C to lightning adapter and power brick, then you can charge your Apple Pencil with just one cable. This is the best way of charging Apple Pencil as it takes the least amount of time and effort. However, it does come with its own set of downsides. The first downside is that only the Apple Pencil can be charged by this method while other accessories like your iPhone or iPad will not be able to use this method. Another downside is that you won’t get the fastest charging speed as you would if you had plugged it into an outlet or used a battery case.

4. Use An Adapter For Your Macbook Pro

While there are plenty of adapters for MacBooks, there are fewer adapters for iPads so I don’t recommend using this method unless you have a MacBook Pro and no other charger option available to you. This method requires two adapters. el as it offers you the fastest charging experience. However, you will still need to charge the pencil itself by plugging it into an outlet or using its included power adapter.

Using The Pencil Together With The Ipad

1. Use The Pencil With A Case

If you are traveling with your iPad, there are a few accessories that you can buy to protect it from bumps and scratches. However, Apple Pencil is not one of them. So if you are going to use your iPad, then these cases won’t work for you. However, there is another option – the Apple Pencil case. It is a soft sleeve that protects the pencil when it’s not in use and makes it look like a real pen when it is in use. It costs $49 and comes in three colors – black, white, and blue.

2. Use The Pencil With A Case And A USB Charger

If you have an extra USB charger lying around at home or work then this will be a perfect solution for charging Apple Pencil while using the iPad either on your lap or on a desk or tabletop. There are also versions of this kit that come with an Apple Pencil charging case.

3. Use The Pencil With A Case And A Power Bank

If you don’t want to buy a case or a USB charger, then you can use your own power bank to charge the Apple Pencil. You will need to use one of the USB cables that came with your iPad and connect it to the power bank. It is important that you use a USB 2.0 cable because Apple Pencil only has a 1A output and will not work with 3A chargers.

Conclusion

Apple Pencil is a great accessory and can be used in a variety of different ways. It can be used for writing, sketching, doodling, and much more. It is a perfect gift for artists and creatives who want to bring their ideas to life on the go. However, if you are going on a long trip and aren’t sure how you will charge your Apple Pencil, we have outlined a few ways to do so. These include using the Lightning port, connecting the Pencil to your iPad, and using a power bank. We’d recommend using the power bank as this will give Apple Pencil a full charge and charge your iPhone as well.
